Targeted use of Nitrification Inhibitors March 2012

The Lake Taupo Protection Trust is partly funding a research project within the Lake Taupo catchment in relation to 'Targeted use of Nitrification Inhibitors in the Lake Taupo catchment' being undertaken with parties including the Taupo Lake Care Group.

This research project is in its second year and is trialling the application of DCD on two case study farms with a view that this approach may improve the financial sustainability of farming in the Taupo catchment without increasing the amount of Nitrogen leached. Read more ....
