01 October 2015 - Status report on Completion of nitrogen contracts to meet project target
This report seeks to update the Lake Taupo Protection Project Joint Committee on progress to meet the projects objectives of reducing manageable nitrogen by 20%. 16 December 2010 - The Lake Taupo Protection Trust announced today the signing of an agreement with Tuwharetoa farming entity Waihi Pukawa Ahu Whenua Trust
The Lake Taupo Protection Trust announced today the signing of an agreement with Tuwharetoa farming entity Waihi Pukawa Ahu Whenua Trust to reduce 17,000 kgs of Nitrogen leakage into Lake Taupo. The agreement sets in place nitrogen reduction outcomes through farm management changes and the transfer of 284 ha of pastoral land into forestry. This new agreement brings the Trust to a total reduction to date of 84,000 kgs towards its overall target reduction of 153,000 kgs. Read More...
12 February 2009 - Lake Taupo Protcetion Trust announces conversion of farmland to forestry
Lake Taupo Protection Trust announced today an agreement which will achieve the conversion of over 930 ha of farmland to forestry. The Trust has the job to reduce nitrogen entering into Lake Taupo and ensure the ongoing health and high water quality of the lake is maintained.

Lake Taupo Protection Trust announced today that it has purchased two farms in the western part of the Lake Taupo catchment area. The Trust was set up to achieve a permanent reduction of manageable nitrogen going into the lake by 20% by facilitating land use change within the catchment.
26 February 2008 - Graeme Fleming appointed CEO of Lake Taupo Protection Trust
Experienced local government manager Graeme Fleming has been appointed chief executive officer of the Lake Taupo Protection Trust. He resigns as general manager of environmental services at Hamilton City Council, where he has worked for nearly 29 years, to take up the role. Lake Taupo Protection Trust chairman John Kneebone said it was a privilege to welcome a man of such calibre to the new position.
