No.
-
How will the public fund be applied?
- The Trust may purchase nitrogen either by purchasing land or NDA.
- The Trust is meeting the cost of the initial benchmark consent process which would otherwise be a direct cost to the farmer. - Some of the public fund will be directed at research with a view to seeking suitable methods of reducing pollution from conventional farming systems.
- When will the Lake Taupo Protection Trust start purchasing nitrogen?
On completion of the Environment Court appeals process arising from Waikato Regional Council's Proposed Regional Plan Variation No.5 - for the Lake Taupo Catchment, expected late 2008.
